If I hadn’t chosen to attend a lecture by Jack Shepherd (of Teacher, Teacher fame) when attending the Winchester Writers’ Conference I would never of heard about the Daily Mail First Novel Award. Talk about getting in by the skin of my teeth: the closing date was only two days later!
This year, the big prize money is being offered by Amazon. If you are an unpublished or self-published novelist, are over the age of 13, and have a completed manuscript of between 80,000 and 150,000, I can’t think why you wouldn’t want to enter.
