Book Reading at Borders, Kingston

Having left a ‘proper’ job to avoid public speaking, I hadn’t expected to standing with a microphone in front of  a room full of people quite so soon. Fortunately, that room was full of family and friends, which made my first book talk more of a pleasure than I had expected (helped along by the fact that we were all able to enjoy a very pleasant dinner afterwards). I am indebted to  Alison Baverstock who very kindly agreed to co-host the event when I met her recently at the Kingston Literary Festival. Alison lectures at Kingston University and is the author of several guides for writers, which I feel sure I will be making use of in the not too distant future.
